The One Hack to Achieving Any Goal

So you clicked on this blog and expected to find some life-changing, magical shortcut to help you achieve all your goals. Well, while it may be life-changing, my one tip to helping you achieve any goal isn’t magical, or a shortcut.

As we know, 2018 is quickly approaching. Now is the time many of us begin to reevaluate our progress over the past few months and start to map out goals for next year. You may have a few goals from this year that you haven’t accomplished yet (like myself) and are determined to do better next year. The one hack that’s going to help you achieve any goals you set for 2018 is consistency.

I know you’re probably thinking, that’s it? Yes, it is. Consistency is one of the most underrated tools to success. The saying is true, you are what you repeatedly do. When you remain consistent with working towards your goal, you will eventually become great at it and eventually achieve success in whatever it is you are trying to do. It doesn’t sound sexy and it may even take a while, but your idols are where they are because of their persistence and their consistency. They didn’t give up easily. They remained consistent even when they didn’t feel like it.

Some of us (myself included) are so easy to give up after a few weeks, because what we’re trying to achieve isn’t happening quick enough for us. We live in an era of instant gratification and have become accustomed to that. I had to take a step back and be real with myself that I struggle at achieving certain goals because I’m not consistent. Anything that’s worth it won’t be easy, and if we want long-term success, its going to require long-term consistency. Those who are successful aren’t successful because they’re smarter than you or better than you. They simply chose to remain consistent even when they weren’t motivated.

To remain consistent when it comes to achieving your goals, I would recommend mapping out a few small steps that you could take to achieve your overall goal and challenge yourself to do it consistently for 30 or 60 days – no matter how lazy or tired you may get.

One of my goals is to turn my blog into a side hustle. I can’t turn my blog into a side hustle if I don’t create content. One step I can take to achieve this goal is to consistently create content for my supporters to read. If we want to take it a step further, I can come up with a consistent posting schedule and a content calendar each month with ideas. When we break our goals down into small steps, they won’t seem too big to tackle – making it easier for us to remain consistent.

I challenge you to identify one thing you can do consistently over the next 30 days to help you achieve a goal you’ve set for yourself. I’ll be doing the same and documenting it on my Instagram using the hashtag #Tenacious30. Feel free to document your journey by using the same hashtag.
